WWW stands for World Wide Web. This abbreviation is frequently used to denote web servers from other servers within a domain.

Why Does This Matter to Me?

many sites use the familiar www. at the beginning of their web address. Though this used to be necessary to insure that traffic was directed to the correct server, it is less so now. You can choose to have the www. included in your web address or not.
