Hosting is a service to post your web pages and associated images and scripts on a web server so they can be delivered to your site visitors.

Why Does This Matter to Me?

Hosting is kind of like the lot for a building. It is the place where the web site will exist. Without hosting, you have no place to store your information for people to be able to access it.
